An Indian citizen needs Aadhaar to take advantage of the welfare facilities provided by the government. Aadhaar is the proof of one's address and identity card. Aadhaar is a 12-digit number issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).

 

India has adopted an identification system, commonly known as Aadhaar or Unique Identification Number (UID), which will cater to all the needs of people living in India. The unique identification system is popular in many countries because it not only provides basic facilities to the people but also helps in increasing the security of the country.

1. He is an Indian citizen living in India, or

2. He is a non-resident Indian / non-resident Indian living in India, or

3. He is a foreigner living in India

 How To Enroll For Aadhaar Card 

1. Aadhaar Enrollment Center

To apply for Aadhaar visit the nearest Aadhaar Enrollment Center authorized by UIDAI

Submit your proof of identity and proof of address when applying for Aadhaar Card

You can also find the Aadhaar Enrollment Center using the online portal of UIDAI

 

2. Fill the Aadhaar Enrollment Form

On visiting the Aadhaar Enrollment Center, you will have to submit the Aadhaar Enrollment Form. This form is free and you can also download it from the official website of UIDAI.

After filling the form, you can submit it to your nearest Aadhaar Enrollment Center

 

3. Photograph and biometric data collection

After submission of the form, the nomination process takes place. In this method, the person's photograph, fingerprint scan and iris scan are taken. During the nomination process, it is extremely important to personally double-check all the provided details and correct any errors, if found.

 

4. Acknowledgment Slip

After nomination, you will now receive an amalgamation slip which can be used till you get the original copy of your Aadhaar card. The slip has a nomination number which can be used to check the Aadhaar status online as well as through IVR.

 

5. Dispatch of Aadhaar at the address of the applicant

If the Aadhar validation process is successful, you initially receive an SMS or a notification via email. After that, in a few days, the Aadhaar number gets printed on the person's Aadhaar card and is sent via post to his / her verification residential address.

 

Download Aadhaar Card by Aadhaar Number

Step 1: Go to the official website of UIDAI https://uidai.gov.in/

Step 2: Select 'Download Aadhar' option or go to https://eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/ this link

Step 3: Select 'Aadhaar' option from 'I have' section

step 4:  If you do not want to show the Aadhaar number then select 'Masked Aadhaar'

Step 5: Enter the captcha code and click on 'Send OTP' to get the password on the register mobile number

Step 6: Enter OTP

Step 7: Click on 'Verify And Download' to download the e-Aadhaar card

 

Download Aadhaar through Virtual ID (VID) 

Step 1: Visit the online portal of UIDAI

Step 2: Click on 'Download Aadhaar'

Step 3: Select the VID option from the 'I Have' section

Step 4: Enter your virtual ID, full name, PIN code and security code

Step 5: Click on "Send OTP"

Step 6: Apart from this, you can also use the TOTP option for authenticity.

Step 7: E-Aadhaar will be downloaded into your system

Step 8: You can enter the Aadhaar card password and go into it

Step 9: To download the PDF enter 8-digit password which is the first 4 letters of your name in CAPITALS and birth year

 

Download the e-Aadhar card using the Enrollment ID

Step 1: Go to www.uidai.gov.in

Step 2: Click on 'Download Aadhaar' option

Step 3: You will reach https://eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/

Step 4: Enter the enrollment ID number of 14 digits and the time and date of 14 digits

Step 5: After this enter your full PIN code, image captcha code

Step 6: Click on 'Request OTP'

Step 7: Click on the "Confirm" button

Step 8: You will receive OTP on your registered mobile number

Step 9: Enter OTP and click on "Download Aadhaar"

 

How to download Aadhaar card by name and date of birth

Step 1: To get your lost EID or Aadhaar number again (https://resident.uidai.gov.in/find-uid-eid) visit Aadhaar website

Step 2: Enter your full name and registered email ID or mobile number and security code

Step 3: Now click on the Send One-time password button

Step 4: Now enter the OTP found on your registered mobile number and click on the "Verify OTP" button

Step 5: A message will appear on the screen saying that your Aadhaar number has been sent to your registered mobile number.

Step 6: Once you get your Aadhaar Enrollment Number on your mobile, go to the e-Aadhaar page of the UIDAI website

Step 7: Click on "I have Enrolment ID option"

Step 8: Enter Aadhaar Enrollment Number, Full Name, Pin Code, Captcha Image (one photo in which you will have to select multiple photos)

Step 9: Click on "One Time Password"

Step 10: You will get OTP. Enter it and select 'Download Aadhaar' option to download Aadhaar

 

 How to download Digital Locker e-Aadhar 

Step 1: Login to your digital account. https://digilocker.gov.in/

Step 2: Then click on the 'Sign In' button and enter the 12-digit Aadhaar number

Step 3: Click on 'Verify' and get 'OTP'

Step 4: Insert the received OTP

Step 5: Click on Verify OTP

Step 6: The page of the released document will appear. Then download 'e-Aadhaar' using the 'Save' icon
